Reed Krakoff Boxer Bag in Neon Green

Happy Friday! It has sure been a long week.  The weather is forecasted to be mostly sunny in Los Angeles this weekend.  Which means, I can finally take this baby out! Other than that, I’m looking forward to catching up on sleep, finishing up some work, and tackling some house chores.  Have a great weekend!

Easter Cookies

I’ve been wanting to try decorating cookies with royal icing for quite some time now. So when my friend told me that she’s hosting a Spring get-together, I thought it’d be the perfect opportunity to make some sugar cookies and decorate them.  Think of all the fun pastel colors!  There are so many great tutorials out there for royal icing.  I used this tutorial for both the sugar cookies and icing. Decorating took a bit of time and effort, but here are a few suggestions to hopefully make things easier:

1. Bake the cookies the day before.  This would allow the cookies to completely cool, and not melt the icing.

2. Use squeeze bottles to decorate, instead of pastry bags.  Sur La Table sells a basic set of 4 bottles.

3. Let the icing completely harden before packaging.

Peach and Turquoise

I am loving Zara’s Spring/Summer collection right now — everything from pretty pastels to bold floral prints to tweed blazers.  I  was first drawn to this top because of its soft color.  But when I got a closer look, I was even more fascinated by its intricate details such as pleated shoulders and star shaped buttons on the back.  I paired this peach colored top with orange shorts for a color-blocking look and added turquoise accessories.

Hairy Situation

The hair and beauty on a runway show are just as important as the clothes and accessories.  This Spring I am noticing 2 trends: slick straight & looped pony.

While I am not particularly into gelled-hair, the slick straight style does give an overall low-maintenance, casual-chic look.  Let your hair dry naturally and use a small handful of gel and you’re good to go.

The looped pony is a twist to the classic pony tail.  Tie your hair in a low pony tail and loop in the ends for a clean and fresh look.
